John Koons (aka The Cat in the Hat), of OG&E presents the benefits of partnership at the 2010 Partners in Education breakfast.

The goal of the Partners in Education program is to enhance the educational environment so that students and teachers can be even more successful. The committee helps match the identified needs of each school with a chamber business partner. Business partnership may result in any number of outcomes including: being a guest speaker, test proctor or sponsoring awards and recognitions events. Many of our chamber businesses are already strong partners with local school sites. The Committee wants to increase participation of the program so that each school can benefit from the vast resources in the Norman business community.

Norman Chamber of Commerce members have demonstrated a strong legacy of support to Norman Public Schools students and staff through the Partners in Education program. There is no doubt the amount of value these relationships have brought to the students and staff of Norman Public Schools. 

The Partners in Education program encourages more collaborative efforts between schools, local businesses and organizations. These organizations provide programs, materials and personnel that add to the school curriculum and enhance student learning.
